With the Evans Scholars Foundation receiving a record number of caddie scholarship applications for the sixth consecutive year, the need for financial assistance to attend college is greater than ever.
Our Program helps relieve this burden for deserving, hard-working students who have excelled on the golf course and in the classroom. Recently, our Board of Governors approved a goal of having 1,000 students to college annually by the year 2020. Currently, we have 935 Scholars attending 20 universities nationwide. To accommodate this growth, we are expanding the Program coast to coast, including opening a new chapter at the University of Oregon and partnering with schools in new regions.
Please help your chapter compete for the Par Club Challenge Cup, which will be awarded to the university chapter with the highest giving percentage in 2017. Indiana University won the 2016 Par Club Challenge, leading the way with 60.1 percent of Alumni making a donation to the Par Club. Eight chapters achieved a giving percentage of 50 percent or greater as the Alumni giving percentage increased from 46 percent in 2015. Total Alumni giving to the Par Club increased by nearly $1 million in 2016, a record for the Evans Scholars Foundation.
It’s easy to pay the gift of a lifetime forward. At $21 a month, you can sign up to be a monthly donor at www.wgaesf.org/parclubmonthly. Or make a one-time gift of at least $250 to the 2017 Par Club. We appreciate your support – and best of luck to your chapter in this year’s Challenge Cup!
