Mentor Responsibilities
• Have a clear understanding of expectations for your mentee
• Clearly communicate those expectations
• Create a development plan with mentee that includes milestones and deliverables
• Regularly meet with mentee
• Share information and network with mentee
• Evaluate progress
• Be patient and understand the mentoring relationship is a process that takes work and time.
• Submit feedback about experience with the program upon completion

Mentor Requirements/Qualifications:
• Commitment to X months for program
• Commitment to at least X meetings with mentee each X
• Openness to cultural differences
• Good listening skills
• Patience

Program Guidelines
• Mentoring is a mentee-driven, mentor-guided process.
• Mentoring is a two-way, active learning exchange.
• Confidentiality is essential to the success of the partnership.
• Goals, roles, expectations and time frames are clearly defined at the onset.
• Mentoring creates an environment of mutual support and sharing among professionals.
• Success depends on your level of commitment to the program and to your mentoring partner.

Mentee Responsibilities
• Have a clear understanding of why you want to be mentored, and expectations of your mentor
• Clearly communicate those expectations
• Create a development plan with mentor that includes milestones and deliverables
• Inform your mentor about your preferred learning style
• Regularly meet with mentor
• Accept constructive feedback
• Set time aside for self-reflection and evaluate progress
• Celebrate success
• Be consistent and reliable
• Be patient and understand the mentoring relationship is a process that takes work and time.
• Submit feedback about experience with the program upon completion

Mentee Requirements/Qualifications:

• Willingness to learn and open to change
• Good listening skills
