William C. Kingore
Throughout the course of his business and professional career, Bill Kingore has served several leading investment and financial services firms. He has also dedicated his time, energy and skills to philanthropic causes in a variety of leadership roles, a focus that he is now committed to as Vice President of the Western Golf Association/Evans Scholars Foundation.
Bill is responsible for cultivating major and principal gifts on behalf of one of the largest and most prestigious privately-funded scholarship organizations in America. The Western Golf Association and its charitable-arm, the Evans Scholarship Foundation, currently provides more than 850 full-tuition and room scholarships to hard working, bright and financially challenged young men and women.
Bill began his business career with the investment bank of Goldman, Sachs & Company. He served the firm as a member of The Chicago Board of Trade. Bill’s career evolved into positions of increasing responsibility at the investment banks of Drexel Burnham Lambert and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
In 1990, Bill and a group of like-minded notable fixed-income professionals formed Wilmington Securities, Inc. The firm provided highly specialized advisory services to a group of blue-chip institutional clients.
Bill later became an executive search professional. In 1997, he joined Sullivan & Company and was subsequently named Partner with Heidrick & Struggles upon the merger of these two firms in 1999. Bill has conducted and completed a wide-range of senior and high-profile executive searches within capital markets, global banking, asset management and the exchange community including several for Chief Executive Officer.
In 2002, Bill was invited to become a Partner of Liquidity Direct Technology. As a member of the executive management team and head of business and product development, Bill helped orchestrate the sale of the firm to Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings in 2004.
Immediately prior to joining the Western Golf Association/Evans Scholarship Foundation, Bill was Principal and Founder of Kingore Partners, LLC. The firm provided traditional executive search consulting services and also worked to arrange introductions of capital to clients who required additional funds to augment their business operations.
Bill is a member of The Economic Club of Chicago and the Union League Club of Chicago. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University in 1982.
Between 2005 and 2010, Bill served as a Director of the Western Golf Association. He served on the WGA Board of Governors between 2009 and 2010. While serving on the Board of Governors, he was Chairman of the Endowment & Fundraising Committee and the Corporate & Institutional Development Committee.
The Western Golf Association was founded in 1899 by Chicago-area golf clubs. Today, more than 400 member clubs throughout the nation support the WGA. The WGA-sponsored Evans Scholars Foundation has provided tuition and housing scholarships to caddies since 1930.
The Evans Scholars program is also supported by three leading golf tournaments including the Western Junior, the Western Amateur, and the BMW Championship, the penultimate event in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup.
