Annual Report

May 2011

Dear Friends of the Evans Scholars Program,

Improving performance is a goal that all golfers share. It requires intense focus, control and flexibility – and knowing when to make adjustments. Such a disciplined approach carries over to our work at the Western Golf Association/Evans Scholars Foundation.

In 2010, we improved performance at all levels within this organization. By keeping our eye on the ball, we maintained our number of Evans Scholarship awards – despite a continuing escalation of tuition bills.

We are now supporting 825 Evans Scholars at 19 universities through the generosity of Par Club members and other supporters, revenue from our world-class tournaments, and the dedicated work of WGA Directors and staff.

In 2010, we raised a total of $14 million, achieving and surpassing our objectives in many notable areas:

• Our tournaments netted nearly $1.9 million – a 25 percent increase over 2009 despite the continuing impact of the difficult economy on the golf industry.

• Contributions from Par Club members grew to $7.1 million due in part to the many people who upgraded their membership levels.

• Donations from Evans Alumni surpassed $4 million, including $1.8 million in Par Club support. This is a testament to the ongoing loyalty of Evans Scholars and their commitment to giving back to the program that changed their lives.

• We completed the most successful campaign in our history – raising $7 million in capital and endowment support for the Evans Scholars House at Northwestern University.

• Scholarship applicants over the past two years have reached an all-time high, reflective of our increased outreach to qualified candidates and the continuing challenge faced by families of modest means to pay for college.

With support from the golf community, we can continue to award the gift of a college education to deserving caddies. When you invest in us, we can invest in them – outstanding young men and women including the six individuals featured in this year’s Donors Report.

Thank you for allowing us to serve on their behalf – and in the best interests of the game.

Sincerely,

Roger Mohr, Chairman, and John Kaczkowski, President & CEO
