GOLF, IL - The WGA's new website, a project nearly two years in the making, will better position the organization to handle future growth. It has four main goals: to increase fund-raising revenue, strengthen stakeholder relationship, build awareness and increase the reach of the WGA message.
The system contains powerful new tools to allow the WGA’s main stakeholders — Alumni, Scholars and Directors — to get the information they need online and to ultimately better connect and network with each other.
The project will be launched in phases, with the main site going live first in late August. Following, functionality that allows our supporters to log in to a private side to network with each other will be added. This winter, new tournament sites for the Western Junior and the Western Amateur, as well as individual sites for each of the 14 Evans Scholarship Chapters, will be launched.
Alumni, Scholars and WGA Directors soon will be able to create their own profiles, update personal and professional information, search for people, do career networking and view their online giving history.
In 2009, WGA selected Blackbaud to handle both the Web site and database portions of the project. Based in Charleston, S.C., the company has extensive experience and leadership in nonprofit technology. The WGA is using three Blackbaud products — The Raiser’s Edge database, Sphere for the website and a custom connector that allows information to travel between the two.
